Your rankings dropped. Was it you, or the store?
How far App Store and Google Play search results move, every day, in each country. When thousands of apps move at once, it was not your metadata.

How this is measured
Daily
rankings, in every market
Thousands of App Store and Google Play positions, recorded every day and compared with the day before.
10 places
is what counts as moved
A keyword only counts as shaken once it moves ten places or more, so everyday noise stays out of the signal.
2 stores
side by side
Apple and Google rank apps independently, so every update is shown next to what the other store did in the same country.
Frequently asked questions
What is an app store algorithm change?
A change to how the App Store or Google Play ranks apps for a search term. Neither store announces them. From the outside they look like thousands of apps gaining or losing ranks on the same day, which is exactly what this tool measures.
How does the detector work?
Thousands of search positions are recorded in every market each day and compared with the day before. The headline figure is the share of keywords whose results moved by ten places or more. When a market moves further than it ever normally does for that day of the week, we call it a store-wide update.
How do you avoid false alarms?
Three ways. Every market is judged against its own history rather than a universal threshold, because an ordinary day moves 3% of keywords in Germany and 30% in Brazil. Google Play’s weekly refresh rhythm is accounted for, so a naturally busy Tuesday never counts as an update. And a day has to clear the bar by a real margin, not scrape it. Each update is then published next to what the other store did in the same country that day.
Which stores and countries are covered?
Both the Apple App Store and Google Play, across the markets that matter most for app growth. A market is published once its coverage is deep enough for the reading to be reliable, and new markets are added as coverage grows.
Is it free?
Yes, and no signup. Create a free Applyra account to see what an update did to your own keywords rather than to the market as a whole.
