Troubleshooting

I cannot find my app when adding it to Applyra

App search runs inside one storefront, so an app not published in the selected country will not appear. Change the country, or add it by its store URL or ID.

App search runs inside one storefront. If the country and language you picked do not carry your app, it will not appear, however exactly you type the name. Change the country, or switch to Direct ID/URL and paste the store link, which finds the app by its identifier instead.

The dialog says as much when a search comes back empty: no apps found, try adjusting your search terms or changing the country and language settings. Almost always it is the market.

The two ways to add

ModeWhat it takes
SearchThe app name or the developer name, from two characters up. The exact name is by far the fastest
Direct ID/URLAn App Store link, a numeric App Store ID or a bundle ID, and on Google Play a store link or a package name

Direct ID/URL is the one to reach for whenever you have the store link to hand. A name that is a common word competes with every other app using it, while an identifier resolves to exactly one app.

What each message means

  • No apps found. The store returned nothing for that term in that market. Check the country first, then the spelling, then try the identifier.
  • Application not found. Please check your ID/URL. The identifier is valid in shape but the store has nothing under it in the storefront you selected. The same message appears for an app that has been removed from the store.
  • Invalid format. The input is not a store URL, an ID or a package name. Paste the full link from the store rather than the share text around it.
  • Could not load this application from the store right now. Please try again. The store did not answer. This one is transient and a retry usually fixes it.
  • You have already added this application. That exact app, in that exact market, is already in your list. The same app in another country is a separate entry, not a duplicate.

Picking the right market

The country and language list is not the same on both stores: the App Store serves 116 storefronts, Google Play 117 countries and a longer list of languages. Applyra only offers what the store you selected actually serves, which is why the language list changes when you switch store. Markets explains what a market is and why it is part of the app rather than a filter on top of it.

The first app you add in a store sets the country and language you used as your defaults for it, so the next one is pre-filled. You can change them at any time on the account screen, described in your profile and default market.

If the app really is not there

An app that has been pulled from a storefront cannot be tracked in it, because there is nothing to read. If it is still live elsewhere, add it in a storefront where it is published. The rest of the flow is covered in add your first app, and following one app in several countries is covered in tracking an app across markets.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not find my app when adding it to Applyra?

The search runs inside the country and language you selected, so an app that is not published in that storefront does not appear. Change the country, or switch to Direct ID/URL and paste the store link, which finds the app by its identifier instead of by name.

Can I add an app by its App Store or Google Play URL?

Yes. The Direct ID/URL mode accepts an App Store link, a numeric App Store ID or a bundle ID, and on Google Play a store link or a package name.

What does Could not load this application from the store right now mean?

That message means the store did not answer when Applyra asked it for the app. It is transient, so try again in a moment. It is a different message from the not found one, which means the identifier does not exist in the storefront you selected.
