Troubleshooting

My tracking paused after a period of inactivity

A free account left alone pauses its data collection. Nothing is deleted, and one button on your dashboard restarts tracking and refills today's positions.

A free account that has been left alone stops collecting new data. Nothing is deleted: your apps, keywords, competitors and all the history you already have stay exactly where they are. Open your dashboard and a dialog tells you the account is paused, with one button that starts everything again.

Paid accounts are never paused. Subscribing lifts the pause too.

How you know

You cannot miss it. The dialog is the first thing on the dashboard, headed Your account is paused, and it names the date the pause began. While it is up, the tracker stops gaining new rows and the recap email goes quiet. Signing in still works normally, and so does everything else on the site: this is a pause on collection, not a suspension of the account.

Keeping it running takes nothing more than using it. Anyone who drops in on their rankings now and then never sees this screen.

What stops, and what does not

StopsKeeps working
New keyword positionsEvery position already measured
Listing refreshes on your apps and competitorsThe apps, keywords and competitors you track
Competitor update alertsYour account, your settings and your login
New visibility scoresThe free tools and the rest of the site
The recap email

Nothing in the left column is lost, it is paused. Nothing in the right column ever moved.

Restarting it

One button: Reactivate my account. It does two things. It clears the pause, and it goes and fetches today's positions for your tracked keywords straight away, so the tracker fills back in rather than making you wait for the next daily refresh. Anything still outstanding is picked up by the following one.

That is the whole procedure. There is nothing to re-add, nothing to reconfigure, and no support ticket in the middle of it.

Why the tracker can look empty first

The Keywords Tracker shows keywords with a recent position, and a paused account had stopped producing them. A tracker that reads as empty is a symptom of the pause, not a sign that your keywords are gone. They are all still tracked, which is exactly why the answer is to reactivate and not to add them again.

Once reactivation finishes they are back with today's positions, and the history behind them is untouched. See the Keywords Tracker for what you are looking at when they return, and rank history for the series behind each one.

Why it exists at all

Measuring positions every day, on both stores, is real work, and it is done for every tracked keyword whether or not anybody reads the result. Pausing the accounts nobody opens is what pays for a free plan that is permanent instead of a two week trial, and it costs one click to undo. On the paid plan the question never comes up.

If what you actually want is to stop the emails rather than the tracking, that is a different setting: see the emails Applyra sends, and how to stop them. If the emails stopped but the tracking did not, that is a different question again: see I am not receiving Applyra emails. And if you want the account gone entirely, see deleting your account and your data.

Frequently asked questions

Why did Applyra pause my account?

A free account that has been left alone for a while stops collecting new data. Nothing is deleted, and a dialog on your dashboard offers a single button to start collection again.

How do I reactivate a paused Applyra account?

Open your dashboard and click Reactivate my account in the dialog that appears. Collection resumes immediately and today's positions are fetched again for your tracked keywords.

Does pausing delete my keywords or my history?

No. The apps, keywords, competitors and everything already measured stay exactly as they were. Only the collection of new data stops, and it restarts where it left off.

Why did my Applyra keyword rankings stop updating?

If the tracker has gone quiet and the dashboard shows a paused account dialog, collection was paused because the free account was left alone. One button restarts it and refetches today's positions.

Can a paid Applyra account be paused for inactivity?

No. The pause applies to free accounts only, and subscribing lifts it. A paid account keeps collecting whether you open it or not.
